unafraid's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- make me a red cape...i wanna be superman. wow. what a show. i had no idea john mayer was such an AWESOME guitarist. i was completely amazed. and it's so cool that he's got like all this jazz influence in his style. wow. he even covered a Jimi Hendrix song. and blew everyone away! this man is talented. he played his guitar, harmonica, and whistled. and he also threw in his own little version of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". it was so awesome. haha. but all in all it was a great show. i'm so glad i went. well at first, we had to wait in this long line in the cold for like half an hour, then we got inside and there was already a crowd. so we just got as close as we could. but then people kept scrunching in front of me. so i was squished, and i couldn't see a damn thing! i was so frustrated. but then after like 2 or 3 songs, people moved and i had a nice little space where i could see really well....for the most part anyway. near the end, it was getting kind of hard to see again. then this guy kept elbowing me in the face, but he was extremely nice about it and kept apologizing and like...petting me. haha. let's see, john played..."love song for no one", "1983", "your body is a wonderland", "neon", "city love", "not myself", "my stupid mouth" and just about everything on his new cd. he also did an encore which included "Comfortable" (one of my absolute favorites) and....oh damn i forgot the other one....um....crap. i'll remember later. then i'll add it in here. or something like that. after the show, we went outside to wait around for him. we were like the last people there. his bassist came out and some of the crew and talked to us and were really nice. his bassist was soooo nice, it was unbelievable. =) and john finally came out around like 2:30 or so and he just walked past us and we didn't even say a word. so that went over well. we're losers. haha. but i heard that he was sort of blowing everyone off that night. kinda sucks. a lot. but oh well, the show was great. he was just having a bad night or something, i'm sure. something like that. anywho, i should start getting halfway ready for work now. i actually have to close tonight, something i haven't done in like 3 weeks! eek. later guys. 10:31 am - Oct. 18, 2001 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
